"There are fine musicians. There are fine teachers. And there are guys who
are really nice to be around. Sandy Gennaro is one of those rare individuals
who possesses all of the above and more. He is one of the pillars of the
Collective faculty and one of the key reasons for our success.........." When not on the road or in the studio, I have the pleasure of teaching the
art of drumming and related subjects at The Drummer's Collective
in NYC. I've been a faculty member since 1987. I
teach private lessons, group classes, rhythm section workshops and a Master
Class on "The Business of Music".
In private study, I highlight groove, consistency of tempo, song structure
and reading charts, creating drum parts for songs, double bass, audition
prep, career counseling and gig, session and tour prep.
I also have a series of instructional videos, dvds and books called Drum
Basics - The Ultimate Beginner Series. They are available through Warner
Bros. Clicking on one of the graphics below will take you to the Warner Bros. secure shopping site for further info and purchasing.

* "Hi Sandy, Just a quickie to say that I was clearing out/organising my vinyl yesterday, found the Blackjack album (great cover) and gave it a blast. I remembered it
has some cool songs on it and some nice relaxed production but what i didn't
remember was the drumming.....You are AWESOME on that album fella - real
natural feel stuff, from the gut playing. Drives the album along, gives it
an energy that it just wouldn't have had without your playing. Nice one BOSS, cheered me up no end....Ta ta for now"...Ian (Oxford, England)
* "Dear Sandy, I saw you play drums with the" Shags" at St. Joseph Hill Academy in
1967.I knew you would be a superstar then .You were spectacular!I was in a band
with Tony Danza ,the "Cultivated Mushrooms "back then . I just enjoyed your
playing so much.I was floored how great you were at such a young age.Looks
like I was right! * "Hi Sandy, I saw the gig on Sunday night at the Jazz Cafe and loved Bo and the
band but would just like to say that your drumming nailed it down like
it should be. Rock solid and with swing and feel even! Great
combination. Magnificent groove and lack of flash, but all the right
accents and drama. I could go on.... but just thanks. I loved it. It's
great to see Bo with such a good band. R & R history in a great setting"... Steve Brayne
